Poppy has worked for the Great Britain and Welsh Cycling Teams providing sports massage at their National, European and World road and track races as well as during their training camps. The highlight of her career with the team was the London 2012 Olympics during which she worked with the Men's and Women's Road Race Teams who achieved gold, silver and bronze medals. Other recent work has included The Ladies Tour of Holland with the Welsh Commonwealth Games Team, the Manchester and Beijing Track World Cups and the Women's and Men's National Road Races (Team Sky). During her time with British Cycling she has had the privilege of working with many elite cyclists such as Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell Shand, Luke Rowe, Lizzie Armitstead, Geraint Thomas, Mark Cavendish, Alex Dowsett, Phillip Hindes, Callum Skinner and Ed Clancy.
Working with the cyclists and their coaches has allowed her to gain a greater insight into the world of elite cycling and the effects that this sport has on an individuals soft tissue anatomy during training, competition and recovery, as well as how best to treat them.
When Poppy first moved to Cardiff she set up a clinic at Cardiff University to treat the students with sports scholarships as a benefit of their programme.
Poppy previously worked at The University of Leeds Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic providing sports massage to the Universities Sport Scholars, staff, students and members of the general public.
The Sports Scholars were all of elite national and international standard and come from a variety of sporting backgrounds. She therefore gained a great deal of experience with regards to the specific effects of these sports on the musculo-skeletal system and how best to treat them.
